140 residents of popular sectors of the city of Quito, received a donation of ninety-six wheelchairs, fourteen walkers, forty-five canes and 4 pairs on crutches.

José Luis Sánchez, 51, from the La Roldós sector, was one of the beneficiaries who commented that seven years ago he had an accident that affected his spine, limiting mobility in his legs. He thanked Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil and the Archdiocese for this donation. "Do not get tired of helping, we are many people who need a better quality of life. Thank you for making this dream come true. God bless you," he said.

Monsignor Alfredo Espinoza, Archbishop of Quito, thanked Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil, for the donation and explained that it was the joint work made by ecclesiastical parishes and the archdiocesan Caritas that reached the people with disabilities.

Eduardo Romero, on behalf of JBG, pointed out that these solidarity actions are the product of local and international cooperation, as in this case Free Wheelchair Mission, which for years has trusted Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil’s work for the benefit of the community. " This year we have helped 829 Ecuadorian brothers who suffer from some type of disability" he added.
