Since his appointment in 2020, his leadership has been fundamental in facing the COVID-19 health crisis and projecting the JBG as a benchmark in hospital care and social action in the country. In 2024, the institution increased its budget by 43% compared to the previous year, managing to expand its coverage to <strong>222 cantons and benefiting more than 2 million Ecuadorians<\/strong> &#8211; 25% more than in 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify; line-height: normal;\"> <span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri Light', sans-serif;\">S<\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri Light', sans-serif;\">ocial investment with impact<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify; line-height: normal;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri Light', sans-serif;\">In the area of health, social investment grew by 71%, allowing the hospital network to be strengthened and the reach of the social co-payment program to be expanded, with an increase of 112% in medical care. In addition, <strong>free surgeries went from 1,000 in 2020 to more than 12,000 in 2024<\/strong>, multiplying its surgical response capacity by 12.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify; line-height: normal;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri Light', sans-serif;\">Innovation and institutional sustainability<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify; line-height: normal;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri Light', sans-serif;\">During this period, the JBG has consolidated its technological transformation process, improving operational efficiency and ensuring sustainable growth. Institutional governance was also strengthened, key infrastructures were modernized, and new strategic alliances were established at the international level.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify; line-height: normal;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri Light', sans-serif;\">A management model focused on people<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify; line-height: normal;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri Light', sans-serif;\">Under the leadership of Mar\u00eda Alejandra Mu\u00f1oz, the Commissioner for Social Investment, the focus on projects for inclusion, nutrition and care for groups in vulnerable situations has been intensified. In 2024 alone, more than 10,000 people benefited from programs against chronic child malnutrition, in new communities in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify; line-height: normal;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Calibri Light', sans-serif;\">With more than <strong>5,000 committed collaborators<\/strong>, the Guayaquil Charity Board is consolidated as the leading organization in social action in Ecuador.
