After two years of having lost both legs, sixty-seven year-old Abraham Litardo from the Milagro Canton, had his dream come true on receiving a folding wheelchair la Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil gave him in conjunction with Free Wheelchair Mission, a foreign non-governmental entity.
Abraham worked in downtown Guayaquil selling sweets to earn a living. “At times I would drag myself along because I didn't have a wheelchair to help me move” said Abraham a man who hasn't allowed himself to be beaten by adversity.
On learning about his situation, la Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil's Foreign Relations Department took the necessary steps with the Donations Inspectorship so that he could obtain a wheelchair.
After receiving the donation, in a gesture of gratitude Abraham concluded: “God bless la Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil, those who donated this chair and you who have helped me”.
