Education with a practical focus and direct link to the world of work continues to consolidate as one of the educational pillars of the Education sector of the Junta de Beneficencia, which celebrated the graduation of 207 new high school graduates from its educational units Santa Luisa de Marillac and José Domingo de Santistevan, highlighting the impact of the dual baccalaureate, a model that combines academic training with practical experience in real work environments.
The graduation ceremony of the tenth graduating class of the Saint Louise de Marillac Educational Unit was held at the Sanchez Aguilar Theater, where 92 students completed their high school education. Of these, 32 also obtained certification as Nursing Assistants within the dual training program, while 60 graduated in the specialty of Science.
The dual high school graduates received the international certification granted by the Ecuadorian-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK), a document that guarantees two years of practical training and work experience, strengthening the opportunities for immediate job placement or continuity in higher education for dual high school graduates.
The dual modality is especially relevant in the training of Nursing Assistants, as it allows students to develop clinical skills, service vocation and direct experience in health environments, elements that are highly valued in the health sector.
In addition to this celebration, the XXI Promotion of the José Domingo Santistevan Educational Unit graduated 115 apprentices: 70 in the specialty of Science, 29 in the dual career of Marketing and Sales, and 16 in the dual career of Social Work Assistant. The dual high school program, offered throughout the Junta de Beneficencia’s educational network—which comprises 18 schools across 13 cantons in the country— stands out as a high-impact educational choice that integrates academic education with technical and practical training, preparing not only students but also young professionals with real-world experience, ready to contribute to Ecuador’s social and productive development
