More than just a place to live

The Board of Charity provides comprehensive care to people in vulnerable situations through various specialized centers.

In the Hogares Corazón de Jesús (Guayaquil) and San Pedro (Alausí), comprehensive and personalized care is offered to elderly adults, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. The Hogar Manuel Galecio, located in Alausí, province of Chimborazo, welcomes nearly 100 girls from low-income backgrounds, guaranteeing their education, health, and nutrition in a safe environment.

In addition, the institution has a Home for people with psychosocial disabilities, focused on their recovery and autonomy. 60% of the users of this home are fully protected by the Institution.

Another dependency in the Homes sector is the Board of Charity’s Shelter, which provides temporary accommodation to some 40,000 families a year who accompany patients hospitalized in the Board’s hospital network, providing them with a safe space and essential services.
