The Board of Charity of Guayaquil (JB), through its Hogar del Corazón de Jesús, invites the community to participate in the fair “Well-being and quality of life in aging”, which will be held on Friday, September 19, from 09h00 in the facilities of the Hogar. This event will feature specialized talks and will showcase practical activities that are part of the program’s workshops.
During the fair, the TASE Foundation of Quito, recognized nationally for its experience in therapies for people with dementia, will offer educational talks to raise awareness and guide family members and caregivers on the management and care of those who suffer from these diseases.
This activity is part of the commemoration of September 21, World Alzheimer’s Day, with the aim of raising awareness and sensitizing the community about the importance of knowing more about this disease that affects more than 100,000 people in Ecuador, a figure that continues to increase due to population aging and the shortage of specialized centers in the country.
This need has motivated the Board of Charity to also announce the upcoming opening of a new Therapeutic Center specialized in the care of older adults with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, in the Hogar del Corazón de Jesús, with capacity for 25 people.
The new service arises in alliance with the TASE Foundation, seeking to improve not only the quality of life of people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, but also to provide comprehensive support to their families.
