As part of the celebrations for the 490th anniversary of the Founding of Guayaquil, this Thursday, July 24 at 10:00 a.m., the senior citizens of the Hogar Corazón de Jesús of the Junta de Beneficencia will star in a day full of pride, talent, and love for their city during their emotional “Fiesta Juliana.”
Far from being passive spectators, the residents will be major protagonists of this celebration that will bring together history, art, and tradition in a single setting. Through the evocation of the origins of the Pearl of the Pacific, to the Guayaquil cultural expressions that will be represented by the residents of the Hogar del Corazón de Jesús.
The beauty and grace of the Guayaquil woman will be represented on the catwalk of the parade starring the ladies of the home, who will wear typical costumes from that Guayaquil of yesteryear, of which they share many experiences.
But the spirit and joy of the Guayaquileño will also be present through the dance “Soy Juan Pueblo,” which has been rehearsed with grace and enthusiasm to celebrate Guayaquil.
Thus, with music, dance, poetry, songs, and choreography, the senior citizens of the Hogar del Corazón de Jesús of the JBG pay tribute to that splendid Guayaquil of yesterday, today, and always.
